Emo

Edit: I changed No Act of God to ONLY Act of God

Five For Fighting - Chances

With minor revisions....

Chances are when said and done
Who'll be the lucky ones
Who make it all the way?
Though you say I could be your answer
Nothing lasts forever
No matter how it feels today

Chances are we´ll find a new equation
Chances roll away from me
Chances are all they hope to be

Don't get me wrong I'd never say never
Cause though love can change the weather
ONLY act of God can pull me away from you

I´m just a realistic man
A bottle filled with shells and sand
Afraid to love beyond what I can lose when it comes to you
And though I see us through yeah

Chances are we´ll find two destinations
Chances roll away from me
Still chances are more than expectations
The possibilities
Over me
Eight to five, two to one
Lay your money on the sun
until you crash what have you done?
Is there a better bet than love?
What you are is what you breathe
You gotta cry before you sing

Chances chances

Chances lost are hopes torn up pages
Maybe this time
Chances are we´ll be the combination
Chances come and carry me
Chances are waiting to be taken
And I can see
Chances are the fascination
Chances won't escape from me
Chances are only what we make them
And all I need

Word

Reciprocation is a good word

A Song

A Good Song I remembered
Mitch McVicker
Heaven Is Waiting
I don't need no woman to kiss me.
And I don't need no man to stand by my side.
I don't need to slake my thirst with whiskey.
Don't need to shuffle cards to pass the time.
'Cause the stars are bright and silvery.
And with the dry ache of a lone coyote's whine,
My Savior's calling, and I'm listening.
Time to saddle up my pony and ride.

'Cause heaven is waiting
Just past the horizon.
Just over the mesas.
Across the great divide.
And faith is blazing
This trail that I ride on up this mountain
I'm prayin' I have the strength to climb

I ain't looking for no seven golden cities,
But I know there's a fortune somewhere to find.
There's a peace that I hear whisperin' through the pinyons
And a love that's taller than the ponderosa pines.

And heaven is waiting
Just past the horizon.
Just over the mesas.
Across the great divide.
And faith is blazing
This trail that I ride on up this mountain
I'm prayin' I have the strength to climb

So don't ask for no lengthy explanation
When there ain't no reason quite wild enough.
No words could be as tender.
It's greater than the fears that we imagine.
More than the warmth that we remember.
It's always just beyond the pass
And I must go

'Cause heaven is waiting
Just past the horizon.
Just over the mesas.
Across the great divide.
And faith is blazing
This trail that I ride on up this mountain
I'm prayin' I have the strength to climb

Oh, heaven is waiting
Oh, heaven is waiting
Heaven is waiting

Greenspan Defends Low-Rate Policy according to WSJ

According to http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704207504575129630378724708.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_LEFTTopStories

Greenspan said in a paper, "The Crisis," that he will present at a Brookings Institution conference Friday. "Given history, we believed that any declines in home prices would be gradual. Destabilizing debt problems were not perceived to arise under those conditions."

Mr. Greenspan's reputation has been tarnished by the crisis. Widely hailed when he left office in January 2006 as one of the greatest central bankers ever, he is now blamed by many for advocating deregulation and low interest rates during the 1990s and 2000s.

Current Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has said that failed supervision was a key ingredient in the crisis. In response he has beefed up the Fed's oversight of the nation's biggest banks and become more aggressive about enforcing consumer-protection rules. But like Mr. Greenspan, he has argued against the idea that low rates fueled the boom.

In Mr. Greenspan's 48-page review of the causes and consequences of the crisis, the text of which was released by Brookings, he acknowledged that the regulatory system failed, that Fed officials didn't take seriously enough the risks building in the subprime mortgage market last decade, that regulators more broadly didn't demand that banks hold enough capital and that he didn't do enough to rein in "megabanks" that posed a risk to the financial system.

He offered a full-throated defense of the interest-rate policies he championed. Low rates did play a role in spurring a housing bubble last decade, Mr. Greenspan said. But it wasn't the short-term rates he controlled, he said. It was longer-term rates, which were driven lower by a flood of savings released by emerging markets into the global financial system.

The Fed pushed its benchmark interest rate—the federal funds rate—to 1% in 2003, to fend off a dangerous bout of deflation. Mr. Greenspan says rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages drove the housing boom, not the overnight lending rates the Fed controls. Because of the flood of foreign capital, he said, longer-term rates became less closely linked to the federal funds rate during the boom, something he described at the time as a "conundrum."

"Could the breakdown that so devastated global financial markets have been prevented?" Mr. Greenspan asked. "Given the in appropriately low level of financial intermediary capital (ie excessive leverage) and two decades of virtual unrelenting prosperity, low inflation and low long-term interest rates, I very much doubt it."

The best solution today, he says, is to demand that banks hold more capital. He dismisses the idea that a new "systemic risk" regulator, as Congress is now considering, might prevent the next crisis.

"The current sad state of economic forecasting should give governments pause on the issue," he says.

Mr. Greenspan offered a detailed defense in a dispute he has had with old friend John Taylor, the Stanford University professor and former Bush administration official who has blamed the Fed's low rates for the financial crisis.

Dallas Trip - Road Tripping Wisdom

Hello Y'all! I went on a road trip last weekend with my long time friend, we are close. The road trip was great. We ate, we hung out and we had fun.

Some Lessons Learned:
(Note the descending order)

1) NEVER EVER EAT AT THE GOLDEN CORRAL at AZ, Kingman EVER!!! The food was the most disgusting thing I ate. I remember asking the waitress for a clean plate, she sort through the plates and had a disgusted look on her face. I am still wondering if what I ate would have endangered my health. The food basically undone all the healthy eating I did on the road trip.

2) Always buy the most advanced GPS you can find, especially the ones that will tell you the speed limit in the area.

3) Always buy fiber rich foods on your road trip. Make sure you have enough water and gas in your tank.

4) Spend some alone time, it is good to get away. Do some reflecting.

5) A Road Trip when you feel like you need answers or you realize it has been awhile to spend some quality time with a good friend.

6) Bring a Camera and Take your time enjoying the moment.

7) It is a good idea to take a road trip before your birthday.

Overall, the trip ROCKED!!!!!!!!!

I will share more on the next few posts. Heim start posting!

Cars and Woman...not what you think

So I was on my way home driving up the free way and I heard an old rap song "Gold Digger" by Kanye West and somewhere between the song and me looking at the cars that passed me made me said "That Chev Tahoe is like a woman with a lot of kids...." Then I realized something.....the cars on the freeway can be used to describe women!

Hold Your Laughs....Remember I am not trying to offend anyone but just thought this will bring some laughs. :)

Let me collect myself, you guys can add your own. Here is some of mine:

1) Porsche - A fine girl, very smooth, a girl any guy would like. Stylish, expensive and definitely very responsive how you handle her.

2) Prius - Very tech savvy, your home-ec type of girl. She is smart and efficient. Not yet a family vehicle, we can talk about vans as the next item. The fact that Prius has regenerative braking and its a hybrid vehicle makes her interesting to date. She uses gas and electric, and knows when to be one or the other. A girl you would want to take if you are going to a friends party or a company celebration dinner.

3) Odyssey - Soccer moms and basically now you gained some weight after marriage and still trying to be savvy. Some can evolve and be a MDX (not so high maintenance) or X5 (High maintenance).

4) Camry - Normal girl, does a little bit of everything. Kind of like a diamond in the rough, depending on the people she hangs out with.

5) Motorcycles - Girls who doesnt want to slow down and wants to siphon through guys quickly to find the right one. It is risky though not much protection and she often wants to be in the driver's seat. It also tells me she may not be ready to settle down yet.

I am going into hyper mode next couple weeks for studying and I will be busy. You should pray and hope Heim-ster comes through on the posts otherwise you may not see some activity for awhile. Go ahead and bug him!

Yours,

2012

No no I am not prophesying the end of the world in 2012 but I do have a question

Say supposedly someday world ends and you know you will survive what is one thing that you wish to have? For example:

1) I wish I do not have to repopulate the earth with (insert the girls name here - if you are a guy) I know it is a bit insulting but hey now I just made this example funny! :)

2) No zombies? :D

What is yours?

I was talking to a cute a girl today, the conversation went well unfortunately she said "I am a vegetarian." Sorry girl I love Korean BBQ and meat in general. She is cute but no meat in my diet? I like meat and I hope my future girlfriend will like meat too. :D

Good Movie Quotes

"Brothers what we do in Life, echoes in Eternity"

~Maximus, Gladiator

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."

~ Professor Keating, Dead Poets Society

“Oh, no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was Beauty killed the Beast.”

~Carl Denham

“Use the force, Luke.”

~Obi Wan Kenobe

“Hasta la vista, baby.”

~ Terminator

“I know kung fu.”

~Neo

“Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

~Forrest Gump

“I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.”

~Vito Corleone

“Adriannnnnn!”

Actors

I like House, Wilson and House reminds me of the friendships I have with several of my close friends.

Hugh Laurie is impressive I enjoy watching House and his ways of being a prick is awesome. It is rare to find friends that are witty and knows how to roll with the punches when you pick on them.

I would recommend the follow TV Shows for 2010:

1) HOUSE
2) LOST (LAST SEASON)
3) FRINGE
4) CHUCK (Kristin Kreuk is back on TV!)
5) Man Vs Wild
6) HEROES (They must had a budget cut because I dont see people
blasting each other with fireballs anymore. The last episode
showed Peter and Sylar breaking down a wall with sledge hammer.
That is how you can tell the economy have taken its toll on
entertainment. When actors actually have to work to earn their pay ie
breaking down a wall or seeing Jackie Chan jumping onto hot coals.)

I am wondering if the economy will be so bad that actors would actually have to work during their set to earn extra money. Maybe when actors are filming they have to film it next to a construction site. So they have to shoot scenes about construction or maybe a scene at someone's house about plumbing. Well they can probably charge extra who would not? Wouldn't you pay extra if Matt Damon works on your house and uses a sledge hammer? (Remember the scene from Good Will Hunting) Or perhaps Tom Hanks painting your bedrooms? (Remember the Terminal) Oh wait maybe he will do it free because Forrest Gump? Actually he will probably MOW your lawn for free. Tom Hanks and Matt Damon do have one thing in common (Road to Perdition and the Bourne Trilogy). I will leave it at that.

:D

I have been posting a lot and I will probably have to take a break once class starts. Do not miss the posts too much. I think Heimmer should be posting soon. Laters!

The Annoying Middle Man

Just a thought.....

Isn't it interesting how Disneyland advertises so well, that the kids demand they have to see Disneyland. Adults would most likely grant their kids' wish. So I wonder if Disneyland have found a legitimate way using media to take kids hostage and adults pay to be with their kids. Yes in a weird and twisted sense of humor I find that hilarious. Just like how people are paying for Nike, Adidas, UnderArmour and Reebok brand or logo on their shirts and shorts. The sports apparel we buy and we pay for, it is an indirect way for us to advertise for THEIR COMPANY. The funny thing is we are paying to advertise for them!

How about the Movie, the Notebook? I remember there is one scene, Ellie said to Noah "Why didn't you write me?" Noah responded "I did, I wrote you everyday." It turns out Ellie's mom did not think Noah was good enough for Ellie so the mom hid all of Noah's letters via mail. Thanks mom for ruining or making the movie more dramatic. I also heard people these days profess their love through emails or via Internet. My question is what if the filter took the email and stored it under Trash. That's great now if the email was cleverly written, the Internet just wasted lover boy's time. What can the guy say? I wrote you everyday but the Internet did not want me to see you!?!?!?!? Come on people, I think face to face communication is still the best when it comes to asking the girl out.

Please note and remember I love Disneyland, and I am just making an observation. I think Disneyland is a wonderful place and I AM NOT bad mouthing about the most wonderful place on Earth. I just want to point out how business these days have figure out a way to make us pay for the things we can normally do for free. I do not normally say this but....well we will save that topic for next time. :D

Cheers!

Book of Eli

I just watched the Book of Eli and I have to say I am impressed.

The twist at the end of the movie made it decent, but I did learn something from the movie that I thought it was a good reminder....be on a mission and often the mission is about walking by faith and not by sight.

For a lot of us, we are on a path of searching and questioning. Sometimes we do not know where to go ie Career paths, investments, relationships and maybe perhaps just LIFE in general is tough.

The last couple months I kept reminding myself and asking myself this question: Have I been faithful to the gifts and talents God has given me? Have I been on a mission? Or simply AM I THE BEST ME? Not that an image I made up in my mind but rather AM I DOING THE BEST I CAN DO RIGHT NOW IN MY SITUATION? Otherwise I am just a lazy bum.

All you have to do is just pick it up and start walking....when we tinker with our decisions it paralyzes us. Just go!

Recently I got involved in a ministry, and it was a blast. John Piper, the pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church once said "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him" and that God's highest pursuit ("his glory") and man's deepest and most durable happiness come together in one pursuit – namely, the pursuit of joy in God. Through this ministry I learned to serve people in a different way. Now I want to stay away from the Pharisaic expression of "Hey look at me I am so holy because I am serving people..." I only want to use my experience as an example on pursuing something I wanted to do for a loooooong time and finally did it. Serving in that ministry allowed God to soften and soothe the certain sore spots in my life and I often need to get out of my comfort zone. I feel serving people is just one of many ways for us to be on a mission with God. This mission will require us to talk to Him, traveling with Him and be used by Him.

Back to the movie...there are some gruesome scenes in this movie but overall, Eli (Denzel Washington) fought well and he was faithful to his mission.

Until next time! Be on a Mission :)

Hello World from San Diego

Where do I Begin???

Hold on I will wait for the cheering to stop....

Ok, so I have not blogged for awhile.

First of All we need to do some house cleaning:

1) We need a New Background Picture for the ChangHeim Steamroller, SUGGESTIONS?
2) How do you guys feel about pictures on this BLOG? We can use it for illustrations and good laughs. (Stick figures and Stink lines comes to mind)
3) I hope as time passes we (ChangHeim) here at ChangHeim will evolve and be better writers and bloggers. So hopefully we can see the improvement over time!
4) I always wanted a personal blog, but since Sloey and Manish made it so public, I do not want to publish anything too personal, yes toooo personal. :)

Now lets begin (Updates)

So lets look at what has happened the last couple months.

BAD NEWS:
1) Haiti Earthquake
2) Unemployment
3) Aging
4) Jack Bauer is BACK!
5) Thinking my Options in Life are limited
6) Connan leaving The Tonight Show

GOOD NEWS:
1) God using this time to break me down and mold me
2) My options are limitless not limited
3) LIFE
4) Finally ASKED
5) Friends in My life have been a huge blessing to Me
(Seeing Sloey running in that marathon, I know
running 26.2 mile or more is possible)
6) I am looking for a job still you guys think NBC will
hire me as their new comic? We can post comical ideas on this blog
and use it for The Tonight Show?

Just a thought...if I live close to work I would like a GIANT, see through foam ball. It will be tough rolling to work. I am thinking it will be a good workout (Arms, Core and Legs). The ball is also environmentally safe, NO GAS!

Well I don't want to burn myself out. THIS will be it for now.

Feel free to email me suggestions and comments. See y'all around.
